Business Enhancement Symposium to be Held at MCC Venice

(Bradenton, Fla., May 9, 2006) - A Business Enhancement Symposium, with classes that address everything from creating sales flyers to recruiting Hispanic employees, and a lunch-time presentation on hurricane preparedness for business and home, will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, in the Selby Room of the Professional Development Center, building 800, at Manatee Community College (MCC) Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.

Participants can select two classes from six topics before hearing keynote speaker Robert Day, MBCI (member-level certification for the worldwide Business Continuity Institute) Plans Chief with Sarasota County Emergency Management,  discuss "Hurricane Preparedness for Business and Home."

Class topics include Human Resources for Small Business; Creating Sales Flyers Using Word; Hiring and Retaining People in Areas With Low Employment; PowerPoint; Recruiting and Retaining Hispanic Employees; and Using Outlook for Calendar Contacts.

The fee is $35 per person or $70 for two or more people from the same firm. The symposium is sponsored by Florida Power & Light and Englewood/Cape Haze, Venice Area and North Port Area chambers of commerce.
