(Bradenton, Fla., May 8, 2006) - The deadline has been extended to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, for new students to apply for admission and enroll in Summer Short Term A or Full Term C classes that begin May 9 at Manatee Community College (MCC). In the application process, students will need to provide appropriate SAT/ACT scores or take the Florida College Entry Level Placement Test (FCELPT) to determine course selection. The last day the FCELPT will be offered to new students also is Tuesday, May 9. After attending orientation, students can Web register for classes.

Programs leading to one-year certificates and two-year associate in arts, associate in applied science and associate in science degrees are offered. Classes are held at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West; MCC Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail; the Center for Innovation and Technology at MCC Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway East; and at other off-site locations.

Summer student services hours at MCC Bradenton and MCC Venice are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday. A one-time $40 application fee ($75 for international students) is required for new students.
