MCC Holds Scholarship Auditions for Music Majors
(Bradenton, Fla., April 6, 2006) - The Manatee Community College (MCC) Music Program will hold scholarship auditions Saturday, April 29, for vocal and instrumental music students who plan to attend classes at MCC in the 2006-07academic year. In addition to showcasing their talents, participants will learn about what MCC's program has to offer them.
Events include a tour beginning at 10 a.m.; a theory placement test at 10:30 a.m.; and scheduled auditions beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m. in the Music Building, number 11, at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.
MCC's Music Program includes performing ensembles, classes and applied music lessons for musicians of all ages. Students perform on and off campus, and choral and instrumental ensemble tours take students to foreign as well as domestic locations. The program's faculty consists of more than 30 leading professional musicians and music educators. In addition, local, national and international performers present recitals and master classes. The Neel Performing Arts Center features a nine-foot Steinway concert grand piano and a 50-rank pipe organ.
