MCC Administrator to Facilitate National Community Exchange
(Bradenton, Fla., March 16, 2006) - Tom Flowers, director of the Manatee Community College (MCC) business services and public safety department, was chosen by his peers to be a facilitator of a Community College Community Exchange on May 8 at the National Association of Educational Procurement's (NAEP) 85th Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Md.
Identified as a "Thought Leader" in the community college area, Flowers was one of two NAEP members chosen to facilitate an open-discussion and problem-solving session. The NAEP is a nonprofit professional association dedicated to the development, exchange and practice of effective and ethical procurement principals and techniques within higher education and associated communities.
With MCC since 1995 and working in the community college system since 1983, Flowers received a Service Award from the National Association of Educational Buyers (NAEB) in 2004 in recognition of his service on the NAEB Cooperative Purchasing Committee. He has a bachelor's degree from St. Leo College (now St. Leo University), Pasco County, and associate in science and associate in arts degrees from Pasco-Hernando Community College.
