MCC Students Win Scholarships at Winter Music Symposium

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb.23, 2006) - Three Manatee Community College (MCC) sophomores won awards and scholarships at the Florida Community College Activities Association Winter Music Symposium held at Stetson University, Deland, Jan. 26 through 28. MCC winners are Peter Le, guitar; Devin Neel, jazz improvisation; and Kevin Rose, tenor. They won more awards than entrants from any other participating college by winning three out of eight categories.

Each winning student received a $1,000 renewable scholarship at a Florida college or university of his choice. The winners were featured performers in a Jan. 28 concert at the symposium. Neel, 21, is a Bradenton resident. Rose, 20, and Le, 19, are Sarasota residents. All three plan careers in music.
