Sculptor Mark Anderson Exhibits Work at MCC

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 17, 2006) - A new series of bronze figurative sculpture, The Contact of 2 Skins, is showcased in an exhibit by Mark Anderson that continues through Feb. 23 in the fine art gallery at Manatee Community College (MCC) Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. The exhibit showcases the largest single collection of Anderson's work to be exhibited in the Tampa Bay region.

Anderson is an instructor at Ringling School of Art and Design. His combination of intense realism and rigorous formal design is appreciated by a wide range of art lovers and his work appears in private, corporate and museum collections.

One of Anderson's sculptures, Woman Asleep, is installed in an outdoor Gulf Coast Museum of Art (Clearwater) sculpture collection that includes works by many nationally prominent sculptors. It was the only sculpture from the museum's collection to be cited in the Art Lovers Guide to Florida.

Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call (941) 752-5225.
