Poet Carolina Hospital to Read at MCC Campuses

Hospital's most recent book of poetry is The Child of Exile: A Poetry Memoir. A recognized expert on Hispanic literature in the United States, she has published five books, including the ground-breaking anthology, Cuban American Writers: Los Atrevidos, and A Century of Cuban Writers in Florida. She was one of 13 authors, along with Carl Hiaasan, Dave Barry and Edna Buchanan, who contributed to the best seller, Naked Came the Manatee, and co-authored the novel, A Little Love, with husband Carlos Medina. Her fiction, essays and poetry also have appeared in national magazines and newspapers. A teacher of writing and literature at Miami Dade College, she was awarded endowed teaching chairs in 1996 and 2003.
