MCC Faculty & Administrator Complete Leadership Program

(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 30, 2005) - Manatee Community College faculty members Judith Bodenweiser and Dawn Evancho, and administrator Joan McGill recently graduated from a year-long Academy for Leadership and Development program.

Created in conjunction with the Chair Academy, a division of the Maricopa Community College District, Mesa, Ariz., the program advances organizational leadership and provides succession planning for leaders in community and technical colleges. The program includes an initial week of on-site training; a practicum experience involving implementation of an individualized professional development plan; a mentor program; and a final week of on-site training with a focus on leadership issues.

Participants are nominated by their individual colleges and selected to attend. Bodenweiser teaches biology and Evancho teaches nursing. McGill is campus executive officer at MCC Venice.
