MCC Faculty Exhibit Artworks
(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 22, 2005) - Manatee Community College's Annual Art Faculty Exhibition will continue through Jan. 19 in the fine art gallery at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. The exhibit showcases a broad range of artworks by MCC full-time and adjunct instructors.
Artists displaying their work include James Alexander, Ted Camp, Sherri Hill, David Kinsey, Joseph Loccisano, Jamie Tracy, Drew Webster and Sue Wyar.
Alexander's drawings incorporate geometric forms into a framework of marks that stem from random sketching. Recent paintings by Kinsey, the winner of a George and Helen Segal Foundation grant, have a landscape quality. Tracy exhibits his abstract photography nationally and it appears in multiple public and private collections. Other works on display include utilitarian and sculptural ceramics by Camp; sculpture-on-a-chain by Hill; new figurative prints by Loccisano; documentary photography on "the rise of the old Skyway Bridge" by Webster and message-oriented graphic designs by Wyar.
The gallery will be closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Jan. 16. Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call (941) 752-5251.
