MCC & Lakewood Ranch High School Orchestras Perform

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 24, 2005) - The Manatee Community College (MCC) Orchestra and the Lakewood Ranch High School Orchestra will present a combined concert at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Neel Performing Arts Center, located off 26th St. West at 60th Avenue West. The featured soloist is Chung-Yon Hong, a Juilliard-trained violinist and MCC instructor.

Hong, who also is a member of the Florida West Coast Symphony, will be the featured performer in a rendition of Ludwig van Beethoven's Romance in F Op. 50. The MCC Orchestra also will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Symphony Number 35 and George Gershwin's American in Paris.

Sasha von Dassow will conduct the MCC orchestra and Steven Terry will direct the high school orchestra. Each orchestra will perform individually and together, concluding the concert with a combined performance of the stirring Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg.
