MCC Studio 84 Productions Presents London Suite

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 24, 2005) - Manatee Community College (MCC) Studio 84 Productions will present the area premiere performance of the comical London Suite,  written by one of America's favorite playwrights, Neil Simon, at 8 p.m., Nov. 16 through 19, in the John W. James Studio Theatre, located off 26th Street at 60th Avenue West, MCC Bradenton.  It is the first MCC play to be directed by Dean Anthony, who took a position as a lecturer at the college in August.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright has written more than 30 Broadway shows and is famous for his insightful, comic and touching looks at people and society. In London Suite, Simon pokes good-natured fun at theatre, TV sit-coms, critics and more.

Anthony will direct the four one-act segments that spotlight an inebriated writer and his embezzling manager; a shoe-shopping widow and her daughter; a TV actress and her ex-husband; and a couple who have lost Wimbledon tennis tickets. He has a master's degree from the Florida State University/Asolo Conservatory and has performed in theatres in Chicago, Southern California and throughout the Midwest, the local Asolo Theatre and the International Theatre in Vienna, Austria.

Cast members are Ben Adams, Kali Blankenship, Bobby Brader, Moira Carroll, Kennedy Cranford, Joshua Fishbein, Molly Healy, Hunter Kallenbach, Megan Sisk, Aly Taylor, Ryan Dowd Urch and Shawn Watkins.

General admission is $8. Tickets are $4 for MCC students and staff. For more information, call the Neel Performing Arts Center box office at (941) 752-5252.
