MCC Venice Hosts Arts and Letters Day

(Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 27, 2005) - Singer, acoustic guitarist and songwriter Lorna Bracewell will be the featured performer at a free Arts and Letters Day, Thursday, Oct. 20, at Manatee Community College (MCC) Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.

Bracewell's performance begins at noon outside the Student Union. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., various other performers will take the stage. The MCC Jazz Trio and other musicians will show off their talents beginning at 10 a.m. An open microphone for poets and prose writers, and fine arts exhibits are other attractions planned.

Bracewell, born and raised in Indian Rocks Beach, has been performing professionally since age 13 and has three CDs to her credit. A winner of the Florida Peninsular Arts songwriting competition, she has performed in more than 600 professional shows in a variety of venues, including concert halls, clubs and community events throughout Tampa Bay and as far away as Prague, Czech Republic. Critics praise her brilliant songwriting, hard-hitting acoustic guitar, distinctive raspy alto and fun-loving stage presence.
