MCC Professor Selected to Teach Microsoft Class in Japan
(Bradenton, Fla., June 20, 2005) - Manatee Community College (MCC) Professor Jim Bode, manager of the college's networking services program, was selected from among dozens of applicants from around the world to teach a two-week Microsoft exchange server class at Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan, in early May.
A Microsoft contract trainer since 1999, Bode is certified as systems engineer, systems administrator and database administrator. He also has certifications in messaging and messaging for exchange server 2003. After joining the MCC faculty in 1988, he was instrumental in development of curriculum for a Network Engineering Technology Program and a state-of-the-art networking technology lab.
In 1999, Bode won a master presenter award for two presentations at a National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development conference. He has a master's degree from the University of South Florida.
