International Award-Winning Pianist Performs Free at MCC

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 15, 2005) - Russian pianist Anastasia Terenkova, silver medalist of the 2004 World Piano Competition, will give a free interactive performance at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23, in Neel Performing Arts Center, located off 26th Street at 60th Avenue West.

Terenkova will perform works by Franz Liszt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Maurice Ravel and Fritz Kreisler. Members of the audience and students are encouraged to participate in a question-and-answer session following the performance.

Terenkova's appearance is part of a Charles H. Dater Bach-Beethoven-Brahms Outreach Program that sponsors appearances by gold, silver and bronze medalists in order to bring classical music to children and others through live, interactive performances. Born in Moscow, the 24-year-old pianist won a gold medal in World Piano Competition in 2003. She has been a finalist and won awards in numerous other international competitions. She regularly performs as a soloist and in chamber music concerts in Europe.
