Award-Winning Pianist Performs at MCC

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 27, 2005) - Award-winning pianist Dr. Luis Sanchez will perform at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22, in Neel Performing Arts Center, located off 26th Street at 60th Avenue West. A native of Buenos Aires, he has performed throughout Argentina, the United States and Uruguay.

Sanchez has won awards in competitions held in the United States and in Argentina. A frequent performer with the New Composer's Forum of Tampa Bay, he has been a featured soloist with Fort Wayne Philharmonic and Ball State Symphony orchestras in Indiana and presented recitals at colleges throughout the Untied States. He also appeared in the Young Pianists Concert Series on National Public Radio in Argentina.

Currently on the faculty at St. Petersburg College, Sanchez was the recipient of a 2000 Merle Montgomery Doctoral Dissertation Grant and was a winner in 1998 and 2000 Mu Phi Epsilon Musicological Research competition.
