MCC Holds Scholaship Auditions for Music Majors

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 20, 2005) - The Manatee Community College (MCC) Music Program will hold scholarship auditions for vocal and instrumental music students who plan to attend classes at MCC in the 2005-06 academic year. Auditions will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, and Saturday, Feb. 12, in the Music Building, number 11, at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. Scholarships are available to qualified applicants.

MCC's Music Program includes performing ensembles, classes and applied music lessons that provide educational and performance opportunities for musicians of all ages. Course offerings range from precollege applied music study to a complete university parallel curriculum as part of the associate in arts degree program. The program's faculty consists of more than 30 leading professional musicians and music educators. In addition, local, national and international performers present recitals and master classes. The Samuel R. Neel Performing Arts Center features a nine-foot Steinway concert grand piano and a 50-rank Elizabeth Eaton pipe organ. Students perform on and off campus and choral and instrumental ensemble tours take students to foreign as well as domestic locations.
