MCC Winter Graduation Exercises to be Held Dec. 17
(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 13, 2004) - Manatee Community College (MCC) Winter 2004 graduation exercises will be held 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, in Neel Performing Arts Center at Manatee Community College (MCC) Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. Approximately 139, out of a total of 588 students eligible to graduate, will participate in the ceremony.
MCC President Dr. Sarah Pappas will offer opening remarks and confer degrees. Guest speaker is Dr. Edward Jennings, president emeritus, Ohio State University. Currently a Bradenton resident, Jennings served as the university's president from 1981 to 1990 and continued as a professor of finance until March 2002. The student speaker is 29-year-old Mischa Draime, a Palmetto resident who will major in education at Florida State University.
Other program participants are Rip duPont III, chair, District Board of Trustees; Dr. John Rosen, vice president, academic affairs; assistant professors Stephanie Cook, computing and engineering technology, and Joni Pirnot, mathematics; Robert Donovan, chair, department of computing and engineering technology; Rev. Don Nicholson, chaplain, Campus Ministries; Carol Hawkinson, organist; Mike Monaghan, MCC Bradenton Student Government Association (SGA) president; Christopher Kuwik, SGA Venice president; and Elise Moore, music student.
