MCC Hosts Scholarship Flea Market

(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 3, 2004) - The Manatee Community College (MCC) Student Government Association (SGA) and No Name Tennis Club will host the 19h Annual Scholarship Flea Market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 15, in the parking lot at 26th Street West and 60th Avenue West at MCC Bradenton. SGA and the No Name Tennis Club sell small, donated items and space is rented to those who want to sell items for their own profit.

Proceeds from the annual fund-raiser provide scholarships for MCC students with special needs. In April 2004, six MCC students each received a $400 scholarship. A committee of SGA students, MCC faculty and tennis club members chose the recipients.

The No Name Tennis Club is a group of retired American and Canadian tennis enthusiasts and MCC supporters. Members of the club serve on the SGA Single Parent Scholarship Committee. The recipient of 1999 and 2002 state of Florida's Bob Graham Community College Distinguished Service awards, the club also assists at SGA-sponsored cookouts.

Rental space is $12. Call Tim Hill II, MCC Bradenton student activities advisor, at (941) 752-5607 for more information.
