The interdisciplinary course will be team-taught by Dr. Michael Buonanno, language and literature, and Del Jacobs, multimedia/film program. It consists of lectures, film showings and breakout discussion sessions. Films will be shown in Neel Performing Arts Center. Selected films feature Native American, African-American, religious, gay and lesbian images. A highlight of the course will be an appearance by author Peter Bondanella, who will serve as a curator of a course-related Italian film festival March 14 and 15. Bondanella has authored books about Italian filmmakers and subjects that include Hollywood Italians and Italian Cinema: From Neorealism to the Present

Four separate course sections, each limited to 10 students, meet 1 to 3:50 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays.
