Unsolicited emails, also known as SPAM, often include an attached petition, warning or opportunity to win millions. Links in these messages may include a computer virus. Additionally, responding to these messages may expose you to a scam that attempts to steal your money or identity. Before you respond to or forward the message, check the validity of it. There are websites available where you can check to see whether the email you received is a hoax, scam, virus or urban legend. Do not attempt to contact the sender of these messages. They are often ruthless criminals.
