Training and Support

Through the Quality Enhancement Plan that Manatee Community College designed for its 2003 SACS accreditation, SCF has dedicated a variety of resources to support faculty development and to enhance resources available to faculty teaching distance learning courses.

eLearning Certification

All full-time and adjunct faculty who teach online and blended courses must complete the eLearning certification process (see http://www.scf.edu/Academics/eLearning/FacultyInformation/eLearningFacultyHandbook/CourseApprovalProcess.asp).

Faculty who want to move into eLearning instruction need to contact their Department Chairs to be selected to be enrolled into the next eLearning Pedagogy course that is offered in Fall and Spring semesters.  In addition, workshops will be offered every semester to enable faculty to gain competency in all areas of certification.

Ongoing Training for eLearning Faculty

Workshops in new technologies and pedagogical approaches are sponsored by the Faculty Development Team and coordinated with the Office eLearning. The schedule for workshops and registration information can be found on the Faculty Professional Development Website.
