ADA Policy

The College shall comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which prohibits physical, psychological/mental or other barriers which limits access to employment and educational opportunities for students, employees and applicants.

All State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Employees work to insure campus accessibility for persons with disabilities, which would include, but not be limited to, employment practices, facilities use and maintenance, and admissions, services, programs and activities, except where to do so would result in a fundamental alteration of the program or place undue financial and administrative burdens upon the College

SCF requires a web presence for all faculty who teach distance learning.
As web sites and web resources are created, distance learning issues for disabled students must be considered.

  • Section 508 (of above Act): Web Accessibility Checklist
  • Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990
  • Section 255 of the Telecommunications Act 1996
  • Section 305 (of the above Act)
