Adjunct Certification Training Program
The Adjunct Certification Training Program at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota is intended to prepare adjunct instructors to become successful college instructors by providing adjunct instructors with the tools, skills, and resources to become more effective educators in the classroom. Any adjunct instructor who successfully completes the program will be paid a $200 stipend. In addition, those who complete the certification program and are re-employed at the college the following academic year (Fall and Spring semesters only) and take TWO additional training units during the semesters they are teaching will earn an additional:
1 - 3 Classes - $100.00
4 - 5 Classes - $200.00
(Any workshop that lasts two hours or longer equals one training unit. A workshop
that lasts less than two hours equals 1/2 credit.)
Adjuncts will be required to successfully complete the training program over the course
of the academic year (note: the entire program will be offered during both the Fall
and Spring semesters so that those employed for only one term or the other will be
able to complete the program as well).
The six courses required for Adjunct Certification are:
1) Introduction to SCF Services2) Introduction to Instructional Technology Services
3) Addressing Diversity in the Classroom
4) Designing Effective Classroom Materials
5) Designing Effective Evaluation and Assessment Tools
6) Designing Effective Classroom Management Strategies
